What advice do you have for prospective PC Quest candidates?
Work hard at what you enjoy most. If this work happens to be in technology, then our profit-sharing pay structure allows hard-working employees to make great money. Also, even if you are only working part time to get through college, make sure your job applies to the field you plan to work in.
What are three words that best describe PC Quest?
World-Class Service.
What have been your favorite projects at PC Quest?
In 2016, the Old National Events Plaza contracted PC Quest to install world-class wireless networking throughout their 280,000 sq ft convention center. Another exciting project was in 2018 when we took on a very large project at the Rathbone. We took a retirement home and helped turn it into a 58-unit apartment complex. We installed surveillance cameras, secure-wireless networking, fiber-optic internet; smart door locks, Echo dots, and a Control4 smart system throughout the building.
What are your plans for the next 10 years with PC Quest?
Over the next 10 years, I hope for PC Quest to continue its exponential growth like our last 10 years. In 2014, we purchased MicroConcepts and in 2016 we purchased Risleys Electronics. We have plans to continue down this path of purchases and expansion.
What is your favorite part about working for PC Quest?
My favorite part or working for PC Quest is the relationships that I have developed with my staff and clients since 1995, knowing that we truly make a difference.
Before working at PC Quest, what was the most unusual or interesting job you have ever had?
I lived on a dairy farm, which instilled in me the work ethic I have today.
What do you like to do outside of PC Quest?
I like to travel with friends and family to see new, interesting places.
How do you balance your career at PC Quest and family?
I work 50 to 60 hours per week, but at least this isn’t 80 to 90 hours per weeks like years’ past. So, every minute must be spent wisely to keep things in balance. My time with my family is quality time. My kids and I still play tag and hide-and-seek in the house. This used to drive my wife nuts, but she deals with it now. I have a very understanding family.
Do you have any kids? If so, tell us about them.
I have five children, ages 9-30, and five grandchildren. They are all sweet, smart and full of life.
Are you married? If so, tell us about your spouse.
I am married to Jessica who is a nurse practitioner with Deaconess Hospital in electrophysiology. She is very intelligent, beautiful, and sassy.
What is the most recent book you have read or class you have taken?
My favorite author is Patrick Lencioni who wrote “The Ideal Team Player” and “Death by Meeting.” Both are fantastic books.
